Bed rest is a commonly prescribed treatment for ME/CFS. It is generally used to manage the symptoms of the disease. It also may be necessary in cases of moderate and severe attacks when movement and self-support become difficult. While bed rest is necessary, it often does not improve the symptoms of the disease.
