An MEpedia user is considered an established user when they have completed their first 50 edits. Established users are automatically added to the autoconfirmed group.

New users who are not yet autoconfirmed will be subject to CAPTCHA tests to make sure that the new user is not an automated spam account.

Autoconfirmed users are allowed to edit MEpedia documentation, template pages, and semi-protected pages, whereas new users can only edit regular pages.
