Antidepressants are a group of medications that treat depression. In some cases they also treat other conditions, like anxiety disorders or obsessive compulsive disorder.[1]

Major classes of antidepressants include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs),[1] tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs),[2] and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs),[3] among others.
