Blondie is a long-running American comic strip.

ME/CFS & SEID comic strip[edit | edit source]

Blondie published a cartoon strip in February 2016 that implied the disease was simply tiredness, referring to the new name proposed by the Institute of Medicine report, Systemic Exertion Intolerance Disease (SEID).[1]

Complaints[edit | edit source]

A letter to the Washington Post complained "I’m surprised that this uninformed and tasteless strip was published".[2]

Lucinda Bateman of the The Bateman Horne Center wrote a letter of complaint, criticizing them for risking perpetuating a "gross misunderstanding of the severity of ME/CFS".[3]
