It seems wise to use links direct to the CDC, WHO or similar for people to find the most up to date advice, rather than only putting links in references or the learn more section ~Njt (talk) 11:26, March 17, 2020 (EDT)

Thanks for your contributions here and on the SARS page User:Loopy. With the external links, especially the Wikipedia shortcuts, can you only put these in the "Learn more" or Notable studies sections. The updated MEpedia:Science guidelines say that Wikipedia isn't considered reliable so we shouldn't be directing others there when there are other resources we could use, and ideally we should only be using links to other MEpedia pages within main content articles. The Wikipedia, MediaWiki and other wiki shortcut links are very useful in documentation for pages on the MEpedia or Help areas though.

=Splitting into 2 pages

I think this should be split into 2 pages, one for virus (SARS-CoV-2) and one for the illness caused (Coronavirus disease 19 / COVID-19). We have a Virus categories, but also Illness / disease categories.

But it is difficult to know what belongs in the virus page - I guess prevention is best left on the disease page. ~Njt (talk) 20:20, March 28, 2020 (EDT)

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a U.S. government agency dedicated to epidemiology and public health. It operates under the auspices of the Department of Health and Human Services.

World Health Organization (WHO) - "A specialized agency of the United Nations that is concerned with public health. It was established on 7 April 1948, and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The WHO is a member of the United Nations Development Group. Its predecessor, the Health Organization, was an agency of the League of Nations." The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD) is maintained by WHO.
