Blood test[edit source | reply | new]

It would be helpful for the blood test section to be expanded, the article has a PDF published under CC-BY-4.0 license so these images (even the whole PDF) can be copied and added to ME-pedia. notjusttired (talk) 08:38, 25 March 2019 (EDT)

This is research. It is not an established blood test. Put it on the Fibromyalgia notable studies page. A blood test is being developed to diagnose fibromyalgia; a study by Hacksaw et al (2018) looked for a fibromyalgia biomarker and found a unique metabolic fingerprint which distinguished all patients with fibromyalgia from those with systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.[1] The study only analysed blood samples from rheumatic diseases, so it did not include patients with ME/CFS or other illnesses which can chronic pain.[1]--76.18.68.198 11:39, 25 March 2019 (EDT)

Very large study - source for graphs?[edit source | reply | new]

This study of over 3,000 people with Fibromyalgia would be a great source for graphs of symptom prevalence or other interesting factors, the Graph tool can draw them quickly. Frequent symptoms or types of pain could also be good info for tables. notjusttired (talk) 18:02, 16 April 2019 (EDT)

Notable studies[edit source | reply | new]

This is a list of Notable news stories about the studies so would be best being teenaged, a list of Notable studies would be useful. notjusttired (talk) 08:38, 25 March 2019 (EDT)

Notable studies has its own page. Fibromyalgia notable studies. There had to be a page created because the Fibromyalgia page was too long and could not be edited using View Editing.--76.18.68.198 11:39, 25 March 2019 (EDT)
I created and populated most of the Fibromyalgia pages. If you add, please add the information to the correct areas and pages.--76.18.68.198 11:39, 25 March 2019 (EDT)

Differences from Depression[edit source | reply | new]

There seems a lack of info on websites about this, I thought it might be helpful to cover, including pointing out that a significant proportion with fibromyalgia do not have depression (or other mental health disorders).

Insulin resistance research[edit source | reply | new]

Age-normalized data was found to show a relationship between insulin resistance/pre-diabetes and Fibromyalgia. In a preliminary study, Fibromyalgia patients were treated with metformin, a common medication for diabetes, and showed a large improvement in myofascial pain.
