This page describes newly added features for editors.

Nov 2019

• Now you can thank other editors for a specific edit with just one click: To do so, click the "thank" link in any page history or page diff. Being an MEpedia editor includes many opportunities for negative feedback, so we need more positive feedback options like this in MEpedia!

Aug 2019

• The dates shown in references should now automatically be shown in the form MMM DD, YYYY when you save pages. No more need to change the format of dates generated automatically.
• Now you can spruce up your User Page with Userboxes! Simply insert a Userbox template into your User Page to let other editors know a little more about you!

Jul 2019

• Did you know that images from "Free access" and "Open access" might not be licensed for reuse? And that images from tweets aren't licensed as "public domain" images? Or that any image from PLOS ONE or Gray's anatomy is fine for reuse? MEpedia:Copyright policy explains more...
• Thank other editors on talk pages by using one of the following Thank templates:
  • Type "{{Thanks}}" to generate " Thanks".
  • Type "{{Thank you}}" to generate " Thank you".
  • Type "{{Thank You IP}}" to generate " A special thank you for your help in our battle against vandalism. Thank you so much for your efforts to improve this encyclopedia, and Welcome to MEpedia! ~~~ ~~~~~

• Now you can cite a tweet! In the Visual Editor, click on "Cite" in the toolbar, select the "Manual" tab, and then click on "Tweet".
• Ever wanted to cite a specific page in a reference? Now you can! Simply add your citation, and then insert the "Reference pages" template right after the citation, in order to specify the exact pages in the citation. The "Rp" template is a shorthand form of this. No more need to list the same citation multiple times in the references section, just to specify different page numbers!
• More quote templates added
• Sidebar menu now includes link to the Upload wizard, MEpedia:Pages in need, Abbreviations and Glossary
• Use radio buttons to show or hide page text or interactively switch between images with Template:Switcher
• Help:ADDCOPYRIGHT describes how to add licenses to existing images without a license
• Flag images without license in using {{Unknown copyright}}, see Template:Unknown copyright

• The Free art license has been added as a file license option for new uploads.
• Editing on a mobile or tablet is much improved with the default Vector skin, or the new Pivot and Timeless skins
• A new ReplaceText extension allows bureaucrats to replace any words on all pages at once, see Special:SpecialPages to find it

May 2019

• All users now have additional skins that can be used, including the dark Timeless skin. Set these in your user preferences.
• Save time with a list of MEpedia:Science_guidelines#Suggested_Sources and MEpedia:Science_guidelines#Suggested_image_sources - including common citations you can copy and paste, and great websites for scientific images

Apr 2019

• Massively increased information on Category:MEpedia help and Category:MEpedia documentation, with further changes ongoing
• MEpedia:Tutorial created
• Captcha messages (What does the C in CFS stand for?) now turned off for editors with an account. Editors without an account can add requests for websites that should not prompt for a Captcha check.
• The new Terminology pages means selected words or phrases used on any page will automatically have a dotted underline / tooltip. Some terms that don't need a dedicated page can be added to explain what they are. See documentation on Extension:Lingo
• Social media links on all pages using the AddThis extension (may not be visible of using an ad blocker)

• Videos from YouTube, Vimeo and other places can now be embedded, see Help:Video
