GPBAR1 or G protein-coupled bile acid receptor 1 is a protein-encoding gene.[1]

Function[edit | edit source]

ME/CFS[edit | edit source]

The first publication from the ongoing ME/CFS Gene Study, which used the Fukuda criteria for chronic fatigue syndrome only, looked for the SNPs that were more common in CFS patients than in healthy people, and which were most likely to be harmful. GPBAR1 was one of the top ten genes most likely to be harmful that more common in CFS patients, occurring in over 70% of patients.[2]
